Is manly strength She never stopped thinking that he was her enemy a Yankee who had killed her family and destroyed her home Then something in the way he held her made Rheva resist no Willingly she melted in his fierce embrace returned his ardent kiss and surrendered her heart to PASSION'S DAWN. Well I just finished the book It was 476 pages I loved the historical references but what a dick This guy was a real asshole Spoiler alert I was truly hoping she would either kill herself or kill him at the end It did not happen the writer did a overly through job in making me hate Jeff Banks I loved Rheva but in the end she should have killed him Did I say he was a dick The book had some great parts and I could not put it down I read it in one day It is a lot of book for one day BTW There was a Lot of sex in this book like every third page The man just could not get enough of taking advantage of her Not once did the mention that a Union Soldier was enslaving someone Dang Happy New Year I finished it A little disappointed I wanted her to end up with George Boo Change the ending Shoot him He will not be a good father I still vote for George Not Charles George He was the right guy all along I would Fanfiction it but I could not pull off that much sex

PLEASURE ME NOWDashing union Major Jeffrey Banks commanded Rheva Sinclair He knew it was wrong to use his position to take the Southern beauty against her will But the hot blooded officer could no longer fight his pounding desire as he imagined the sensuous woman shed her clothes bathe her velv. I have a confession to makeI love trashy romance novels No I am not your grandmother I am actually a 17 year old male No shameOkay actually a little shame maybe a lotLets go back to where it all began I am a broke teenager and while I do love an occasional book buying splurge I don t have the money to binge at Barnes Noble all the time Unfortunately This conflicts with my love of buying owning and reading books My parents do not have the funds to support my slightly unhealthy addiction therefore I am on my own These things used to be problems Until I discovered cheap books Imagine my amazement when I discovered Goodwill Garagesales Library booksales LIbrary free bins The books you usually find at these places are books much like this one I too used to stick up my nose at the covers of romance novels Who wants to read something with Fabio on the cover I would think to myself Ew its probably disgusting Who would read that I would say Much to my chagrin I have to come to love these books for being cheap and easy to find I have come to find them wildly amusingI read them in a day or two snort at the fluffy content shut the novel and proceed to toss them into a canvas bag of books I am throwing out If its a particularly hilarious or entertaining It will sit in a special corner on my shelf with all the other trashy books I m not proud to say I ve read I m not kidding myself about 80% of bodice ripper reads are terrible I ve never rated one on Goodreads higher then 2 3 starsUntil todayI picked up Passions Dawn at a used bookstore that does not take romance I found it in the 50 cent bin full of other rejects Jugdging on the cover I thought this would perfect for an afternoon of bodice ripping fun Instead Its been sitting on my shelf Eventually I got tired of staring at it and figured I d read it so I could hurry up and throw it into my giveaway bag Never judge a book by its coverI was not expecting a lot Especially considering this was from Zebra With the big ugly Zebra Logo sticker thing The last book I read published by them was THE WORST book I have ever read This however was different In most aspects its a typical bodice ripper Girl meets Guy in the midst of war and havoc Girl rejects Guy despite him being annoyingly persistent Girl decides on page 4759724 that she actually does love him and you re either A wondering why you wasted your life on this piece of trash and throw it a the wall or B Go to the thriftstore and by 27 for 10 bucks 10 bucks well spentThis difference between this and other romance novels is that the writing isn t shittyThat s right Elaine Barbieri can write Setting aside the flowery language and unnecessary verboseness that plagues most romance novels this is very readable Passion s Dawn is set in the Civil War Era The story of southern belle Rheva Sinclair and Union Major Jeffrey Banks Forced to take Jeffrey into her home Rheva is adament that she hates the Federal officer while surprise Jeffrey falls under the beautiful Rheva s spell He is an extreme alpha male and annoyingly persistent Rheva is whiny and hysterical at times But something really keeps you rooting for the characters In fact What makes this book believable is the characters Both flawed and ruled by emotions Rheva and Jeff s relationship is a disfuctional wreck The development of their relationship plays a huge part in the story The ending though cliche is worth the journey Sadly because this was published in the romance genre it will remain unknown It makes me wonder how many people judged this cover and missed a very compelling story It isn t perfect it has its flaws Instalove fluffy prose and its unbearably slow at times But in the romance genre this is a jem

Et skin then slip between the sheets alone he needed her now he would have her tonight and he swore he'd leave her forever at morning's first lightLOVE ME TOMORROWGreen eyed Rheva cried as the handsome stranger carried her to the bed The spirited rebel had struggled with all her might against h. Wonderful read I didn t know what to think of this book when I chose it I had a feeling it would just be some cheap historical romance but I was wrong This was my first civil war romance and first book from this author and lord I was hooked It s a real page turner It doesn t concern only on romance the author gives very detailed descriptions of the surroundings and circumstances most importantly on the Union army s moves and tactics in the war The story starts in 1863 in the midst of American Civil war when General Pemberton sent a flag of truce to General Grant Confederacy surrendering to Union army at Vicksburg Our heroin Rheva Sinclair is uite a character The charming and beautiful souther belle pampered proud and hates every man wearing union blue Her parents had died in an accident when she was barely a child and her widowed and childless aunt adopts her and her brother Her brother Foster is fighting for the confederacy and his friend Charles a confederate surgeon is a secret admirer of Rheva for years Rheva is flattered by Charles s attentions and thinks she s in love with him too And here comes our hero Major Jeffrey Banks the tall dark and handsome union officer of the occupation army garrisoned at Rheva s precious home Aloof and hostile outside Major Banks is a soft and compassionate man inside His mother had abandoned him when he was a baby and left his father for a man and obviously our major hates the entire female community But of course his attitude changes once he confronts the proud spitting fire Rheva Sinclair who makes no attempt to hide how much she hates him like every other southerner Obviously they uarrel and are always at odds whenever they meet What follows is an intriguing story of the Major winning Rheva over first with his touches then with his heart but at one point I was exasperated with Rheva because I couldn t figure out her feelings She wants him but she doesn t want him She hates him then she doesn t hate him and suddenly at the end of the book she s in love with him That was the only flaw I found in the book but Jeff was a wonderful character Unlike Rheva he has good reasons for why he was the way he was and his feelings are always crystal clear And adorably possessive and jealous He falls in love with Rheva much to his rich fiance s dismay He had known his fiance Marsha but never fallen in love with her Calculating Marsha grew up with him her sole goal had been to marry him so she traps him when she gets the chance for their engagement and Jeff agrees to marry her half heartedly because he thought he could never fall in love with a woman and Marsha has all the good ualities for a wife who doesn t need his love a strikingly beautiful woman and a good breeder for kiddies But Jeff s mind has changed and she doesn t like it The rest of the pages are filled with Rheva running and the Major chasing it s uite funny actually But I loved it anyway There are some interesting twists and turns and most importantly a very good writing kudos to the author But all my five stars are for Major Jeffrey Banks
