    I was somewhat disappointed with this as the subject matter appealed Unfortunately the read was dry and repetitious in its presentation Rather than a history of ornithology it felt like a history of ornithologists Admittedly the two are interlinked but having read the birthplace education and employment circumsta

    Interesting largely academic description of the development of UK ornithology by mostly distinguished gentlemen; a bit dry but with enough personal insights and life stories to keep it going to the end
