Repeat Prescriptions

If you have regular  REPEAT medication for a condition, that Doctor is aware of, you can periodically collect a repeat prescription from the Practice without having to make an appointment.

Repeat prescription requests can be made by the following ways:

By Post / In Person
You can send in a printed request slip (available from the Practice, which shows the medication you are taking) to the Practice by post or in person.
Please allow 24 hours before collection of your prescription, to allow it to be checked and signed by your Doctor.

From your local chemist
You can ask your local chemist to order and collect your prescription so you do not have to come to the surgery.  Please contact your local chemist to ask them to do this for you. Most local chemists are now set up for Electronic Prescribing. If you would like your prescriptions to go electronically to the chemist please speak to your local pharmacy.

Please allow 48 hours for your prescription to be ready for collection.
This allows the Doctor to review your medication and sign your prescription.
Please do not allow yourself to run out of medication, it is your responsibility to make sure you place your order in plenty of time.  If you are going on holiday and need to order your medication early, please write on the request form the dates of your holiday.

Please ensure that you request your repeat prescriptions from your GP in plenty of time so that you do not run out of your essential medication. The emergency department and walk-in centres should not be used for this.
